For a 4 wheeler that runs in the cold season, which is better? A 1 piece hunting suit or a 2 piece snowmobile suit (jacket and bibs)? TIA

i would say a one piece, theres less places for heat to escape, but it also depends on what kind of matterial they are made of
it's not the fall that hurts you, it's the sudden impact

Any recommendations? The wife is pretty sensitive to cold and a month ago, it was in the 40s and she rode and was miserable. Just trying to get her something for X'Mas. Also, why are snowmobile suits so often 2 pieces instead of 1 piece? Obviously, 1 or 2 piece, it should be windproof since she is going to be riding in 30 mph wind when she drives the machine.

I have both types and prefer the two piece skiing/snowmobile combo. The hunting one piece is fine for standing still but when out in the cold (<-0) the wind seems to get through when mobile. Also the two piece combo is easier to shed as needed than the old style one-piece snowmobile suits.
Up here when its in the 40's we simply ride in shorts and sleeveless t-shirts!

I wired the grizzly up with a plugin and wear my heated pants and vest. Between that and the heated grips I stay toasty warm. It is a little more expensive but well worth it.

lol, i wear a pair of neoprene chest waders, a warm coat, and warm gloves. keeps my lower half warm and dry, and leaves me access to go behind a tree if mother nature beckons, lol. my upper half stays warm, and, mostly dry.

the key to warmth is layers
the best preforming jacket i've owned is a columbia skii jacket, they might not be cheap but they definetly work (mine cost like 120 dollars)
i was actually hot skiing down slopes in 28 degreese with just skii pants and the jacket on, no layers
i think it would make a great christmas present
hope this helps

When i go ice fishing with my quad, it is routinely around 0 degrees farenheit or -22 Celsius. I wear a one piece floatation suit, one of those big orange ones. Its warmer than all hell but your sunk if you gotta go #1 or #2. Most of the one piece suits have zippers that dont go down far enough for you to extricate your member. So you end up removing the upper portion of the suit just to take a leak. During this time you will freeze your ass off. If you gotta take a dump you have to remove the whole suit or risk pooping in your suit. I have seen this happen more times than once.
I would recommend a good quality 2 piece suit with heavy duty zippers and detachable hood.

Looking at a couple of good suits now. Artica or something like that is one of the best I have found for the money. After all, I am not really going to have her drive the machine in the winter. Just for late fall and late spring.
Looked at what Polaris offers and found it to be pretty steep. Not sure what so good about it. Don't want other brands tho. I will either suit her up in Polaris or Aftermarket. It would look stupid for her to wear Yamaha or Articat and drive a polaris.
